NewsGuard confirmed the image actually showed the intentional sinking of the USS Oriskany that took place nearly 20 years ago. The claim was shared by unverified "news" accounts and even Kenyan parliamentary member Peter Salasya. Salasya's post has been viewed more than 6 million times.
