The ThreadLocal data structure stores data in a thread's local storage, eliminating the need for inter-thread synchronization to access it. We only need to do a bit of synchronisation when pulling a read transaction from the crossbeam channel, but once it's stored thread-locally, we can retrieve it freely. That may seem odd to use read transaction with the WithoutTls marker, i.e., MDB_NOTLS, which indicates it can be moved between threads safely because it does not use TLS.
